My top artist is Pancham Da. Born as a prince, he was the tallest emperor of the art of melody by work. Descended to an established composer parents, he got talent by blood & got the dedication to submit everything into it also by blood. His primary training seems wholesale by this yardstick that his father asked him to compose a tune everyday so that he has a large bank of compositions. By 17, he was under the training of Ali Akbar Khan & Samta Prasad. The density of classical roots gave him the wings to soar in the horizon of possibility & he applied full power to his projects from the very beginning. He had got a few projects at the age of 19-20 only but they couldn't materialise. The maiden assignment only tested him for his classical prowesses. Sat idle for 4 years before the 2nd task but made count every single job from then onwards. Even in his primitive years, he could deliver 'Teen deviyaan', 'Padosan' & 'Kati Patang'. The opportunities of works like 'Caarvaan' & 'Hare rama hare krishna' proved his class in one go & announced with loud volumes what is in store. The rest is history & he ended up as the G.O.A.T. composer ever walked on this earth & with layers of statrosphere above all others. The work done by R.D.x is a treasure of unlimited flowers, sweets, divinities & blisses. Music is a media of sound but his music was a stimulus of all senses. & His impact & print was across all continents & ages. For me, he is the most phenomenal person ever walked on earth & I rate him as a G.O.A.T. of creativity.

Rajesh Roshan is a music director especially stylish with his style being one technically sleek where he bends tunes elegantly at places giving them cool colours & that elegance is of a particular type which is youthful, romantic & beautiful & of a type of his own. He was a 2nd generation music director of Bollywood but he maintained melody in his compositions & retained the traditional glory of past. He was a young chap & got to work in less films, but he struck high success percentage in those films. He was imaged as a youthful composer, but he was a greater scorer than that & had soulful side also in his armoury. My index ranks him 3rd among music directors & he is a style distinct among his contemporaries.

Bappi Lehri till late I believed was a kind of disco king only. But in the recent months I have heard many soft melodious songs of which, they too of very original tunes type. That has raised my respect for Bappi & he has joined my list of great music directors.

Nadeem-Shravan were the melody kings of the '90s. They composed music especially melodious & soulful from the point of view of the new times. Their music was sublte & with Indian feel. They worked for the top filmmakers of the industry & produced some of the greatest albums ever in history. They delivered hits in bulk & set a special genre of music for themselves. They are undoubtedly the best music directers of the modern era & one of the best of all times. Unfortunately we lost Shravan off Corona last year.

The singer who happened to be the perfect partner for Pancham, has rightly been hailed as one in a 7 billion & once in 5000 years voice. The king of playback, the voice of the century, Javed Saheb has rightly remarked that he was superior to even his female counterparts like Lata ji & Asha ji. The trendsetter of '70s whom even Asha ji idolises & whom Pancham worshiped, threw up a new style of singing & changed the styles of playback & reigned till he demised & is yet ruling. Kishore da had merits of both worlds & perfected in every form he was presented. He is the followed of all voicers of today's age & his style is returning to attention. For his voice being soft & melodious & having every emotion I title him as the Voice Of Romance.

There isn't much sayable about Lata ji. She's like a power house in the ocean of humanity. Her towering personality is addition to her skilled artset. There's no surprise that she ruled over the playback industry for 55 years. She's traversed all genres of music & her success in that is proof that melody is a pure craft.

Just a few quotes to describe the cetegory of Asha ji - Javed Saheb had once said that if moonlight is ploughed in honey, the result that will be produced, Asha ji's voice is like that. Asha ji is the queen of the glamour world & the perfect partner for Pancham. Her inner beauty & the diversity of the naughtiness, it is all present in the craft - Every shade of it. She is as proficient in all genres including classical as Lata Ji & is a specialist in the romantic form. Asha ji is the other side of the coin as Lata ji & their 2 shades are the 2 aspects of the human character that are required to be lived to complete the ambition of life. The 4 of Pancham Da, Kishore Da, Lata ji & Asha ji are a golden quartet of music for me & call them the Fab 4 of music. The colour of Asha ji is a shining star in the new moon night & she glows brighter than the sun in that. My remark on Asha ji is that she is an all rounder like Garry Sobers while Lata ji is the record holder like Don Bradman.
